Faith and Business 101: Dream. Purge. Get to Work!

Hi Mom Friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful, relaxing Christmas and that you’ve been dreaming about the New Year!

It’s time to get to work!

If you haven’t written out your goals and dreams for your business, stop right now and do it. Believe me when I tell you that you will feel like you are never accomplishing anything if you do not have your vision written down on paper.

Over the holidays, I went through every single element of my business and I purged, purged, purged. I matched every aspect against my dream and I got rid of (or I’m in the process of getting rid of) everything that doesn’t line up with my vision and purpose. Do you know what I found? A bunch of busy work that wasn’t getting me anywhere!

My former boss and mentor used to encourage me to “work smarter, not harder” and I have really taken that to heart. I want to encourage you to do the same. What can you purge in your daily activities that really isn’t helping you achieve your dreams? Yes, we may be talking about getting rid of some good things. But it is for the best, I assure you. I realized I was wasting a lot of time doing good—but completely unnecessary— things! Pray about this and ask the Lord for His leading and His wisdom. Make sure you are purging the right things. Get a second opinion for a trusted friend or accountability partner.

Dream. Purge. Get to work with tasks that are in line with your vision—and God’s vision—for your business.

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Ephesians 5: 15-17

Until Next Time…
