My Little Mirror

In my house I have a mirror. Sometimes this mirror shows me things I like about myself, sometimes this mirror shows me things that I am ashamed of. Almost always, however, this mirror is accurate. My mirror is three years old-her name is Amber.Do you have any "little mirrors" at your house? I'm amazed at how often I will hear my toddler saying/doing something and I think, "Where on earth is this coming from?" Then just a little bit later I catch the exact same words I just heard coming out of my mouth and I stop suddenly and go, "Oh! That's where she's getting it from!!!" Her latest thing is saying "Alrighty then." It absolutely cracks me up and I love it. When harsh tones or disrespect come out of her mouth that I recognize, however, I don't love having a little mini me around nearly as much!As Mother's we are influential in shaping our children's world and life on so many levels. The Gift of Time. Are You Using it Wisely?

This past week I was reminded that time is a precious gift. Joanne Heim, a blogger of the Simple Wife, author and married mother of two suffered a stroke at thirty-eight years old. She is a wonderful sister in Christ who is now lying in a coma with severe brain trauma. The day before her stroke life was normal, she wrote about a funny incident that occurred at home and then suddenly she’s in the fight for her life. Another coworker of mine has swelling at the bottom of her brain and may need surgery in three months. These two incidents reminded of how quickly life changes and every minute matters. It got me thinking about how I’m using my time. Do I spend my time wisely? Am I spending it with the people I love and enjoy? Am I utilizing it to the best of my ability? Blissdom, Clothes, Business Cards and PURPLE World??

Blissdom You may have read that I am going to Blissdom to represent Moms of Faith this year. If not, you can read it here.Anyway, I have been preparing for our trip over the past two weeks. I have been preparing my body since I signed up to go in October! LOL! I am very excited about all that I will learn, who I will meet, and what this whole experience will do to better Moms of Faith...and me!I will be sure to share all of my experiences along the way... Clothes I have lost 26.5 pounds as of today. When I began my journey in October 2010, I had a very clear goal to not be "the fat one." I did not want to go meet people and feel like Petunia pig! LOL! So, I have been working hard and am happier every time I get on the scale. However, I still have a ways to go to reach my official goal. I want to be be pre-second-child weight by my next birthday (March 2011). I have roughly 25 pounds to get there...Now, since I am going to Blissdom. I do need clothes.
