Disney’s Frozen – Movie Review

In our family, anything Tinker Bell holds the top slot for best movies… until Frozen! Now, Tinker Bell by no means, has been dethroned. She just has some major competition now with my nine year old. To be perfectly honest, it has grabbed my heart as well. It has been years since I have enjoyed an animated film quite this much!

Disney's Frozen - Movie ReviewThere are so many good things to say about Frozen…

There is a strong sense of family and loyalty.

While Elsa does some destructive things, and gives into a rebellious streak for a bit; you are rooting for her, because you have seen her story. You understand her pain and need to “let it go”, and just be herself!

Humor is everywhere as well. Everyone in the theater was laughing out loud quite a bit–especially when Olaf made his debut. He is absolutely hilarious.

Another thing that really blew me away was the MAJOR twist at the end of the film. Honestly, I am pretty good at calling things out when I watch any movie, however, Hans’ character took me by surprise… I do not want to spoil the movie, so you will just have to see for yourself!

Being a mother of two daughters, it was refreshing to see such a wonderful depiction of the bond of sisterhood. I loved it!

And, don’t even get me started on the music! It was spectacular, catchy, and better than any animated film I have seen to date.

As far as any negatives, I do not have a lot to say. There were no spells cast, the crude humor was minimal, and the story focused on the characters in such a deep and profound way, that it touched you in ways that most animated films lack these days. To be perfectly honest, none of the negatives were deal breakers for me. The overall story was too powerful, and it far overshadowed anything negative.

We will definitely be getting Frozen when it comes out on DVD and Blue Ray March 18, 2014!

I have not seen the movie so far but I’ve been hearing some really good things. Can’t wait to check out the music I’ve been hearing so much about also.
