Become a God Pleaser

By Faith_Mom | September 10, 2008

When a woman’s way pleases the Lord, She makes even her enemies to be at peace with her. Proverbs 16:7

I can honestly say that I am NOT a people pleaser. I used to be. There was a time in my life when I would allow what others think influence me…even to the point of ignoring my own convictions. Praise God that I have been set free from that horrible trap.

Today, I could care less what people think of me. Really. You think I am loud? Sorry, God loves me. You think I am too honest? Sorry. I will not be a liar. Can you believe I lot a friend for being too honest???? I do not mean brutally honest…just honest.

I am ONLY accountable to Daddy God….NOT any man or woman on this planet. The same goes for YOU!

We do not need to be people pleasers. We should be God pleasers. If we keep our hearts right and do our best to do the right thing in every situation…even when it hurts, we will be blessed.

Becoming a God Pleaser Tips:

Listen, none of us will never be perfect til we walk through the Pearly Gates. Thankfully, God is not looking for perfection. He is simply looking for willing vessels and He will do the rest!

I loved what I read one author say, ” Don’t make God your number 1 priority. Make Him the center.” I loved that. When we make Him the center, then everything runs to Him.

Beautiful post! This very area is an area God has been working on in me for the past year… really digging deep! The one area that I had not thought of was when I am in need…. the “vulnerability” part of needing is not my favorite thing. It doesn’t feel strong, and when the Lord probed a little deeper in my heart, it really came out that I didn’t want to be “one of those” kind of people… ok a little deeper… I don’t want to be known as a “needy” person… ok a little deeper… people pleasing and what they will think of me. Ugh!!!

Just when I think I am up on it, another layer gets peeled back and there that ugly thing is again!LOL!!

    Bless you this day! Amy

You are completely right about how important it is to become a God pleaser and not a people pleaser. Another scripture that I’ve helped to keep me in check is

“For if my God is for me then who can be against me”.
    Romans 8:31

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?
    Psalm 118:6
