Advertising your business is a necessity if you want to produce sales and build your business. I’d like to help you navigate the vast array of options out there for advertising your Mom Business online.
There are literally millions of places to advertise your business online, but let’s talk about the most important ones.
Free Advertising
I suggest completely exhausting all of the free listings you can find before you start paying for advertising. It’s always great for SEO (search engine optimization) to get your site link out there online as much as possible and start branding yourself. There are many places to promote your business for free. Google “free mom ads” and you’ll find a ton of places to add your business information.
A few of my favorites:
- MomPack
- MUIB
- Mommy Perks
- Living My Moment
Many of these sites will ask you to send them your logo or “button” in order to add your listing to their site. Some sites will create them for you (mostly for a small fee), so it is always best to have this ready to go before you contact the site owner about advertising. Do another online search for “create blog button” and you’ll find simple instructions to do this yourself.
Paid Advertising
In my opinion, the two top paid places to advertise online for great results are Google and Facebook. I have used both Ad campaigns successfully, but I prefer Facebook ads over Google ads. Why? Google tends to bring in a lot of clicks and interest, but Facebook seems to bring in more sales and long-term customers. If you do an online search for “facebook advertising” you’ll find step-by-step instructions on how to set up your first ad. Make sure you read all the instructions. Facebook is very picky about what you can and can’t include in your ad.
If you are nervous about setting up your first ad, you can specify a “daily budget” on both Facebook and Google so that your ad will not cost you more than the amount you specify. It is generally best to do a “pay-per-click” ad. You specify how much you are willing to pay every time someone clicks on your ad without going over your set daily budget. With Google Ads, you can pre-pay and when your money runs out, your ad is paused until you add more money to your account.
When constructing an ad, make sure you are picking keywords that apply to the audience you are trying to reach. Remember, not everybody is a potential customer! You have to find your niche and work within it. My target is Christian moms who want to work from home. I choose keywords that will help me find those moms.
There are many other websites that offer paid advertising. If you do a Google search for Mom Blogs, you should find many sites that sell ad space. Remember to choose wisely and make sure you are advertising on sites that reach your target audience.
Next week we’ll begin discussing the Holidays: boosting holiday sales, time-management, and planning well so that you can enjoy a beautiful Christmas with your family while focusing on the true meaning of the season!
Don’t turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you. Love her, and she will guard you. Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. Proverbs 4:6-7 NLT
Until Next Time…
