<–back to Names of God MainThe first thing I would just like to mention is that Jehovah is not actually a Hebrew word. It came later. The correct word is Yahweh. However, I use Jehovah for familiarity. The distance around the city shall be 18,000 [4 x 4,500] measures; and the name of the city from that day and ever after shall be, THE LORD IS THERE. - Ezekiel 48:35 (amp) "THE LORD IS THERE" (our future home a.k.a.: Heaven) came from the Hebrew words YHWH Shammah. (Note: read more about our future home here: Revelation 21:1-22:5)I am looking forward to Heaven and being with my Lord. I am so happy that HE WILL BE THERE and I will spend eternity in the presence of His love. It is something that everyone who knows Jesus Christ will get to experience. It is something that my soul looks forward to!Heaven is a place that we should be not only looking forward to, but we should be living our lives in light of our eternity. Our walks should be to store up treasure in our … [Read more...]
TweetThe Cure for Unhappiness, Depression and Worry
Lately, God has been nagging me with the same Scripture over and over and over again. If I stress out, He reminds me of it.If I start worrying about anything, He reminds me of it.If I wallow in self pity, He reminds me of it.If I begin to feel sad, angry or any emotion that is not happy, peaceful and content--He reminds me of it.I am now convinced that it really is a message from the Lord that is quite powerful for all of His children. I believe it is the CURE for unhappiness, depression, worry...and many mentally developed issues we have. Before I go further: I am not telling you to go against a doctor's advice, stop taking medication, or anything like that...That is between you, your doctor and God. I AM saying that I am convinced that if we would take God at His Word; we may find ourselves on less pills, paying less psychiatric bills, and feeling less crappy. What is this so-called "cure", you ask?? Well, it is in God's Word: Don’t worry about anything; … [Read more...]
TweetNames of God – Abba
<–back to Names of God Main And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.” - Mark 14:36 (NKJV) I have come to know this Name well. I have even been criticized for using the phrase "Daddy God" in prayers and devotionals.I am not here to debate with anyone on this topic. I know that I know that I KNOW He is Daddy to ME.There are MANY debates as to whether Abba means simply "Father" or the more intimate terms of Papa and Daddy.I believe Him to be my Daddy. I have come to this conclusion in my own personal time with Him and as I spent time in His Word.As I studied this topic, I was puzzled by His use of Abba AND Father. If He only meant "Father", why start with Abba? Why not just say, "Father, Father..." ??In this text, Abba translated in Hebrew means Papa or Daddy. Abba translated in Aramaic translates Father. Jesus did not ONLY speak Aramaic. He also spoke Hebrew and … [Read more...]
