But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. KJV
In the original Greek the word faith was pistis (pis’-tis) and means credence, conviction of religious truth, or truthfulness of God. Reliance upon Christ for Salvation, constancy in such profession, assurance, belief, believe, fidelity.
Why is it so hard for us to simply believe what God says? Why do we doubt? It amazes me how quickly we will embrace the lies of the devil and then doubt God. The very one Who loves us more than any person ever could.
God says…He will never leave us of forsake us. Do we believe it? No. We leave Him and then assume that He left us. When all along He was right there holding us up, loving us, and wanting so much for us to come back to Him.
God says…We are the head and not the tail and that no weapon formed against us shall prosper. Do we believe it? No. We complain about how had the enemy is attacking us and act like we are weak. When we should be standing firm against the attack and putting the slimy worm in his place.
God says…He loves us and wants us for His very own. Do we believe it? No. We condemn ourselves for every mistake and think that He is out to get us.
God says…He is the Great Physician. Do we believe it? No. When we get sick we accept it as part of life and allow the sickness to wreak havoc on our bodies. When the Word say, that by His stripes we are healed. Jesus didn’t accept those whips for the fun of it. He was suffering so that we may be well. The problem is that we don’t believe it and receive it and proclaim it. We accept the illness instead of the healing for it.
God says a lot of things. There are countless promises in the Word that we either overlook or simply don’t’ accept. We must believe to receive. The Word says that without faith it is impossible to please God. That we must believe that He is to even be saved. We must study the Word and learn all the gifts and promises that He desires to give us. We will never receive them if we do not believe.
So, stop accepting life like the world does and realize Whose and who you are and start believing the One Who created all things.
Daddy God, please help me to trust You with everything. Please help me to see and know all that you have for me, all that you sent Your Precious Son to die so that I may walk in victory. Open my eyes to Your Truth. Please give me the faith and help me to recognize it. Thank You, In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
