The adults will enjoy learning about the European crusades whilst the children have the opportunity to play in a real life castle, and with a restaurant attached you can really make a day of it.
Lisbon Zoo
Zoos are always a fantastic choice for a family day out, and Lisbon Zoo is no exception. Founded in 1884, the zoo is home to over two thousand animals and is renowned for its brilliant dolphin show, a must see for kids. A trip to the monkey village is a must, as well as seeing the amazing elephant that, if given a coin, will ring a bell for you!
Tropical Garden
Lisbon’s Tropical Garden was created in 1906 and houses over four thousand species of tropical plants as well as giant palm trees and ponds. The garden houses some of the rarest and most endangered plants in the world, including dragon trees and monkey puzzle trees, meaning there is a lot to learn from a single visit. The tropical garden can also provide peace and tranquility for parents and an enjoyable visual feast for the children.
Colombo Shopping Centre
Lisbon’s Colombo shopping complex is one of the largest in Europe and certainly has enough stores, restaurants, cinemas and bowling alleys to keep every member of the family entertained. It also gives parents a good opportunity to buy souvenirs and postcards for friends and family.
