Guard Your Mind
By: Nell Bradford
So many thoughts occupy are minds at one time. Some of them are very destructive and can cause harm to ourselves or others.
For years, I let my mind think, what ever it wanted and I really didn’t pay that much attention to my thoughts. What I found out later was that, these thoughts started to manifest in different areas of my life and they caused me to make bad choices.
I didn’t know how to check the thoughts before letting them deposit.
How can I stop the wrong thoughts from going fourth in my mind?
I had to examine each thought, which would try to enter through the doorway of my mind. If the thought was not given by God, then it was denied access.
How do we know which thoughts are from God, us or the devil?
If you are having thoughts of hurting some one, taking things that do not belong to you, wanting to be the center of everyone’s attention or even manipulating some one for selfish gain; It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out where these selfish thoughts are coming from.
These are thoughts from the devil and if you let thoughts like this, take root in side of you and grow, they will lead you into destruction.
The devil was Gods minister of music and he was in charge of the music in heaven, But this was not enough for him he wanted to be the center of attention and he wanted to be praised above God.
This attitude had cost him a future in the lake of fire forever. Many of us have thoughts that will try to tempt us, but we do not have to act on these thoughts. Because if you do, they will cause strong holds in your mind.
Jesus, is a great example of how, to deal with the temptations of the devil.
The devil came to tempt Jesus in the wilderness with things that he thought, that Jesus could not do with out.(food)
When this did not work, he tried to get Jesus to commit suicide and when this failed, He offered Jesus the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them.
How did Jesus resist these temptations?
With the word of God.
Every result of any choice you make starts with a thought. Jesus mind was constantly on Gods word, and this caused him to overcome the thoughts that the devil was trying to tempt him with.
When you are faced with decisions, do you feel that you can figure it out on your own, from what you understand from the situation?
I have learned from experience that this also is a dangerous thought process.
Where could I turn to have my mind renewed?
God’s Word. I found out that, when I leaned to my own understanding, it could only take me so far and I didn’t like where I ended up, or the state of mind I had found myself in.
Inviting Jesus to come into my life and change it was the beginning of the renewal process of my way of thinking and being. When I discovered Gods word and applied it on a daily basis, the strong holds started breaking off my mind.
God’s peace and love had taken the place of confusion, worry and doubt.
Some people do not realize how important it is to guard their minds. I’m glad that I realized it before, I would have been destroyed, by my own reckless thoughts.
Beloved, guard your minds from destructive thoughts, which mission is to deliver you to the wicked one.
Blessed is the man whose mind is stayed on the Lord, his steps will be ordered by the Lord.

I am a Berean. A Berean is a believer and follower of the Gospel that looks for evidence of truth found only in the Holy Bible. Where in the Christian Holy Bible can I find the reference that states that the devil was the minister of music and in charge of music in Heaven?
I did not write the article. :) However, I also believe it and reference to it can be found in Ezekiel 28:12-19.
I would like some insight on the heart of forgiving. Some of my biggest strongholds are in this area.
How can I tell if the voice I hear is God and not my own hopes? I know satan’s voice. His that one telling me I am worthless and just end it. That voice I tell to go away although it is much louder than the other these days.
