Names of God – Jehovah Shammah
<–back to Names of God Main The first thing I would just like to mention is that Jehovah is not actually a Hebrew word. It came later. The correct word is Yahweh. However, I use Jehovah for familiarity. The distance around the city shall be 18,000 [4 x 4,500] measures; and the name of the city from that day and ever after shall be, THE LORD IS THERE. - Ezekiel 48:35 (amp) "THE LORD IS THERE" (our future home a.k.a.: Heaven) came from the Hebrew words YHWH Shammah. There are MANY debates as to whether Abba means simply "Father" or the more intimate terms of Papa and Daddy. I believe Him to be my Daddy. I have come to this conclusion in my own personal time with Him and as I spent time in His Word. As I studied this topic, I was puzzled by His use of Abba AND Father. If He only meant "Father", why start with Abba? Why not just say, "Father, Father..." ?? In this text, Abba translated in Hebrew means Papa or Daddy. Abba translated in Aramaic translates Father. Jesus did not ONLY speak Aramaic. He also spoke Hebrew and … [Read more...]
