OK, on to this week’s Mommy tip…
Sneak in the Veggies
I have two daughters. One was very picky when it came to eating and the other much more cooperative. However, both had issues with certain vegetables. Of course, they do not always like the same things, and I will not make a different veggie for each of them. I have a rule in my home, you eat what I make. Period. I am famous for this line; ” I am not a waitress, this is not a restaurant and my name ain’t Flo. You eat what I serve.” ROFL! You can imagine the eye rolling, I am sure.
Anyway, one trick I have mastered to get them to eat their NON favorite veggies, is to cut them up into tiny pieces and have them mix it with another part of the dinner. For example; maybe a tiny piece of carrot covered in buttered mashed potatoes. It helps mask the taste of the dreaded carrot. Yet, they still eat it.
Keep in mind, they must eat what I make. I do not play games. However, if I can get them to do it without a lot of fuss…everyone walks away happy! LOL!

I have been doing the same as of late with various recipes. I recently made cabbage rolls (they like the meat, rice and sauce mixture inside) and instead of just doing the normal stuff, I used my super crazy powered chopper to chop up some carrots and celery to near invisible size and they were none the wiser. They ate those cabbage rolls like they were the best things ever made by mommy. That said, my husband and I also enjoyed the new additions to an old recipe. I have also done this with lasagna which wasn’t as big a hit but that could have been a fluke as well. Children are so funny when it comes to food!
Now that is a great idea! LOL! I will have to do the same with some of my recipes!! TY!
