Don’t Worry – A Message for Homeschool Moms
Ahhhh Here I go again. It’s been one of those “off” weeks. You know the kind I mean, you’ve got so much going on yet it doesn’t seem like anything has been accomplished. There are activities, school work, house cleaning and on top of that the whole family feels it’s necessary to eat. I mean what are they thinking? They just ate yesterday. LOL!
Okay, yes I am being a bit funny here, but I know you know what I am talking about. It’s what makes most of us want to pull out our hair from time to time. You keep adding things on to tomorrow’s to do list and today is not even over with. I’ve done it and am trying NOT to do it again but I can’t always help it.
It can be overwhelming. But the word keeps coming to mind…
“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” – Matthew 6:34 (NLT)
God has helped me to do this in my own way in our homeschool. I don’t fret over what needs to be done tomorrow. I do a little planning but not a whole lot of in depth planning. Each day I write out our pages that were done or lessons that were completed and at the end of the week we are usually on schedule or ahead. There are times we get a bit behind. Especially on those busy frazzled weeks. But we always seem to make it up fairly quickly.
As homeschool mom’s all the book work and activities really don’t have to make us as frazzled as we always seem to be. It’s all about priorities and how we handle things. By not worrying about it we have a much better attitude and when we do get behind we don’t have to think its the end of the world.
Application: I want you to take a moment and just breathe. Have the kids take a break, let them play outside. It’s not the end of the world. It will all get done but for now take five minutes and relax. If you have problems relaxing then pray.
Dear Father, Help us to relax. Help us to not worry about all that needs done tomorrow. Help us to focus on what needs done today. Give us peace in our hearts and minds. We know you care about us and will help us through it. Thank you for your guidance. In Jesus Name, Amen.
