12 Ways to Reuse Soap Dispensers
I am always looking for ways to save money, and be greener! I’m sure there are countless ways to reuse soap dispensers, however, I came up with 12 easy ways to get more use out of them long after the soap is gone.
Tip: Make sure that you thoroughly clean them before reusing. Just because it was filled with soap before, doesn’t mean it’s safe for edible items, or that it will not compromise other things you choose to put in it.
1. Flower Vase
Soap dispensers come in different shapes, colors, and sizes. While the opening is not large, it’s enough to put in one, two, or three flowers–and it doesn’t matter whether they’re real flowers or not, they’ll add color and prettiness to any home decor.
2. Condiments
Wash out old soap dispensers thoroughly, and they can be used for condiments like ketchup, mustard, or mayonnaise. They don’t take a lot of room in the fridge, and they are easy to pack for camping trips and picnics.
3. Hand Lotion
It pumps out soap; it can pump out hand lotion.
4. Shampoo and Conditioner
This works well for shampoo and conditioner if they are a different color and your soap dispensers are clear, otherwise, you’ll have to affix labels to each bottle. This would be a good idea for kids to help control how much shampoo and conditioner to use.
5. Body and/or Wash
If you prefer body washes to soap, you can fill your soap dispenser with body wash. Anything that is a pump bottle makes life, especially showering, easier. No messes and no spills. You can also fill it with your favorite face wash.
6. Mouthwash
You can dispense the right amount of mouthwash to use.
7. Liquid Glue
For crafting, it can be used to fill liquid glue.
8. Liquid Laundry Detergent
Carrying the big size liquid laundry detergent jugs can be awkward especially for your little helpers. It’s easier if you have a designated storage space for your liquid detergent, and you can dispense the right amount into the measuring cup. Otherwise, if you have to haul it out, it makes things inconvenient. Reusing a soap dispenser can make this job easier. And it’s good to have a smaller container of laundry soap for items that require hand washing.
9. Cleaning Products
Buying cleaning products in bigger sizes saves money. Refilling soap dispensers with cleaning products makes for easier storage and access.
10. Home Decor
You can clean it, paint it, and use it as a decorative art form in your home. You never know what a conversation piece it may be.
11. Nail Polish Remover
You don’t have to worry about unnecessary spillage of nail polish remover when it’s in a soap dispenser.
12. Craft Accessories Storage
It’s great for pipe cleaners, skewers or anything that is long and thin.
