You are Significant: Salt and Light
Life can sometimes beat us down, and we make forget that we are significant. Well, I would like to spend a little time talking about our worth. I wish I could tell you that I have mastered this, but I cannot. In all honesty, I am studying this more for me than you! I pray that it blesses us all and reminds us just how important we are! Today, we see that we are Salt and Light!

You are Salt and Light
“You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. – Matthew 5:13-16
This is Jesus, the Son of the Living God telling us that we ARE salt and light!
Think about a really good meal that you have had recently… if there was no salt in the recipe, it would have been an entirely different experience.
And think about light… on a hilltop… or light on a stand. It is impossible not to notice it. However, a light placed low, will illuminate far less.
The Lord wanted us to understand not only our worth and importance to Him, His Kingdom,and this world; He also wanted us to see the flip side: What happens when we do not understand our value and significance.
When we feel sorry for ourselves, we lose our salt and light. We lose our flavor and ability to brighten the darkness in this world!
You see, that is our adversary’s secret weapon… Getting the saints of God to believe that are worthless and nothing… getting US to believe that we cannot make a difference or that we are insignificant.
Well, he is a liar!
Jesus said:
You are the salt of the earth!
You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden!
You are Salt and Light
Who are we going to believe??
