I compiled 7 encouraging Scriptures for military wives that have helped me during my husband's current deployment. My husband being away has never been easy, and this deployment has brought along its share of anxiety, but these verses have comforted me and wrapped me in God's promises. Below I have listed each encouraging Scripture, and why I continuously refer to them every day. 7 Encouraging Scriptures for Military Wives Romans 12:12 - Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. I love this verse of scripture because it tells me to be everything opposite of my natural tendencies. Be confident! Be hopeful! Then I reach the word "patient". Being patient is always easier said than done for me. It is followed by another reminder to keep on praying. For me, the two coincide with each other. I can be patient WHEN I am faithful in prayer. Prayer is my stronghold. Joshua 1:9 - This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For … [Read more...]
Military Fitness Standards – Stop Comparing Yourself
I contemplated for a while over whether I wanted to write this post because it will show one of my weaknesses. While I'm not discrediting the value in fitness and maintaining a healthy body (inside and out), I feel like these pressures are something I have completely conjured up in my own mind. My husband never compares or makes comments to lead me to these … [Read more...]
Diaper Bag: Easy {DIY} Organizing System
It took me a while to perfect the organizing system in my diaper bag, but I truly believe I have finally created something which is practical, functional, and effective. First, I use a backpack versus a bag with a strap or handles. I started using a backpack that I got from the hospital when I had my daughter. By using something I already had, I saved lots of money. Using a backpack is amazingly functional! I am hands-free to chase my toddler around, to hold her hand and my car keys, and to pick things up. Having a bag that I can carry on my back allows me the freedom I did not have before when I was constantly readjusting my diaper bag straps. I did a lot of research trying to come up with the best organizing solution for a diaper bag. I kept coming across a really expensive system called SugarSNAP Files. This "file" system is pretty pricey, at least to my standards and what I wanted to spend! This new find led me to start shopping around for cheaper alternatives. In turn, … [Read more...]
