OK, on to this week’s Mommy tip…
Limit Media
Unfortunately, the media has a strong influence over people…especially children. We need to be very careful what we allow them (and ourselves) to watch and listen to. Families need to spend less time in front pf the computer and television and more time connecting as a family.
Tips to limit media
Limit television.
Be aware of what they are listening to.
Make them play outside.
Have family game nights.
Go to the park.
Have picnics.
Go for a Walk.
Have a family devotional.
Read a book as a family.
Bake.
Play a sport together.
Go to the museum.
Visit the library.
Arts and Crafts.
Hide the ipod.
Play charades.
Let the kids put on a self made play.
Be creative and make life more about spending quality time together instead of sitting in front of the television all the time…never “really” connecting. Moms, we only have them for a short while. ENJOY them while you CAN!

Hi:
I really agree with what you are saying here about limiting Media.
There are some good websites..like Commongoodradio.org that is a wonderful website that is trying to instill Christian values with words and songs! My kids listen to it and it is a soothing and insightful part of our day.
This website is a great source of information too! We need to be vigilant about what we subject our children to to keep them safe.
Have a blessed day..and keep up the great columns!
I totally agree. I think sometimes we have media playing (T.V., radio, etc.) in the background just to have something to listen to.
Getting away from all that “stuff” certainly makes us use our creativity and work to spend more quality time with the family.
Great post! :D
Yeah…it has been like background here as well…The scary thing is we do not realize how much it really DOES affect us and our kids!
