I am a homeschooling mother of two, and it was a very different process to help each child read. My first child was an amazingly fast learner and was reading chapter books by the age of 4! Today, she is 20 and still an avid reader. My second child is the complete opposite. While she loves to read, learning does not come as easy for her, and reading had a bit of a slow start. She has to strive and work hard to make good grades that were so easy for my oldest. When it came to teaching my youngest to read, it was so hard to keep my perspective and not blame myself for her slow start. However, I never gave up, and today, my sweet third grader has improved by leaps and bounds and is reading chapter books. She still has some room for improvement that will come with our diligent pursuit of good reading skills. Preparing Your Homeschooler for College
The final years of homeschooling your child will eventually end. You and your child will be embarking on a new journey. It can be a little bit scary, but exciting. Careful and smart planning will make the transition to college a smooth process for your child. It's key to discuss with your child often about what they would like to do after high school. Don’t Worry – A Message for Homeschool Moms
Ahhhh Here I go again. It’s been one of those “off” weeks. You know the kind I mean, you’ve got so much going on yet it doesn’t seem like anything has been accomplished. There are activities, school work, house cleaning and on top of that the whole family feels it’s necessary to eat. I mean what are they thinking? They just ate yesterday. LOL! Okay, yes I am being a bit funny here, but I know you know what I am talking about. It’s what makes most of us want to pull out our hair from time to time. You keep adding things on to tomorrow’s to do list and today is not even over with. I’ve done it and am trying NOT to do it again but I can’t always help it. It can be overwhelming. But the word keeps coming to mind... “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries.
