Toddlers are great at stalling when it's time for bed. If it's any consolation, you're not alone in this bedtime battle. Many parents go through this phase in their child's life some time during their growing up years, but rest assured bedtime battles can be defeated as long as you're consistent in what you do and say. Toddlers use many different stall tactics such as asking for sips of water, there's a monster under the bed or in the closet, they've lost a favorite stuffed toy, they want another book read, or have to use the potty. All of these are excuses to avoid bedtime and they all can be resolved ahead of time. The Last First
One would think that I would have learned by now, right?! I’ve often heard the phrase “Practice Makes Perfect,” so after four, yes 4 children, it should get a little easier! Or, should it? As you may or may not know, we have been having some troubles over here in our little Hott humble abode. And, it all has to do with just a little something that happens each.and.every day. It can’t be avoided. No. It’s one of those things that will occur whether you want it to or not. It’s bedtime! Why is bedtime such an ordeal? I am sure ours is the only house that can drag the nightly ritual of baths, drinks, brushing teeth, stories, more drinks of water in to a major event of no less than 2 hours! And talk! One night, I am embarrassed to say, Levi told Isaac that "if you don't stop talking I'm gonna come over there and punch you in the face!" Can you believe it?
