In my last post I talked about my prayer and thought process that led me to believe that I should look for work that I could do from home. Now I'm going to tell you about the various different things I've tried and why they did or didn't work for me and how they landed me where I now am. My biggest piece of advice to anyone thinking about working from home is to just jump in and start doing something! In a book I recently read it talked about how God cannot use anyone who just sits around and waits for something to happen. The author used the example of Gideon in Judges 6:11. This verse talks about how Gideon was working, sure he was hiding from the bad guys while doing it--but he was busy, he was doing something! God frequently talks about needing to be diligent, needing to be faithful, and condemns laziness and slothfulness. Does God Want You to Work?
Let me begin by saying that I'm so excited about getting to contribute to the Faith and Business 101 column! Right now I'm a work at home mom with multiple streams of legitimate income that greatly help our family out each month. I wasn't always like this though-in fact just a few years ago I didn't have any ideas for legitimate kinds of work you could do from home. In the coming weeks I'd like to take you along with me on my journey from there to where I am now! Ever since I was just a little girl I always knew that I wanted to find my Mr. Right, get married young, have sweet babies young, and stay at home with said Mr. Right and babies. God blessed me with allowing my dreams to come true! I married Mr. Right (Also known as Mr. Elliott) just before I turned 20 and now at the age of 25 have sweet baby #1 & #2.
