One of my greatest delights is standing between my children in church and hearing their sweet voices join mine in worship. Now before you get the wrong idea, my two little ones are experts at disturbing these idyllic moments. Let’s be honest here, it’s not unusual for me to lose a child during the worship time. Once I notice one is missing someone behind me usually catches my searching eye and points under a seat somewhere down the row. I remove my child from under the seat and return to singing, only to get tapped on the arm by the seven year old asking what does that or this word mean, you know, weird words like “Hosanna” and “worthy.” It’s delightful that she wants to know, but this is like the seventh time she’s asked. I once again return to singing and soon realize the five year old is now lying in the middle of the aisle, I whisper loudly to her, “someone’s going to step on your head.” I silently blame myself for forgetting to bring a coloring page and crayon packet once again. … [Read more...]
The Daily – She Did
Yesterday, I shared with you my struggle with trusting God with my money. I also told you I would share a story that had such a profound affect on me, I am still moved to tears as I think about it... One of our pastors shared a video from a missionary in Africa with us before offering recently. It was about SO MUCH MORE than money though! I tried to find the actual video Online to share with you and could not. I have left messages for a few people at church to find it, so when I do, I will post it here for you to see with your own eyes. In the mean time, I will share the story I saw. Before I begin, please understand, again, this story has really nothing to do with money. It has to do with priorities and our true purpose as children of the Almighty and Living God! Why go to Church?
Before I begin, I want to make it clear that this is NOT going to become a mean spirited type of discussion. We are all sisters in Christ and we should act accordingly. If ANYONE posts a mean come back or has the profound need to force others to believe what they believe to the point of arguing, their comments will be deleted and never again approved on this site. So play NICE! OK…on to the discussion part… Do you go to church? Why or why not? Do you think it is something you should do? How do you think it affects your children either way? Share your thoughts... Over the years, as I have lead Moms of Faith, I notice that there have been a lot of Mothers that do not attend church regularly. In fact there have been a lot of members and subscribers who have told me Moms of Faith and places like it are pretty much the only "church" they get.
