The Sermon on the Mount – Blessed are those who Walk in the Spirit
<–back to The Sermon on the Mount
Matthew 5:10 (NIV)
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
We are supremely blessed every time we make a right choice. Every time we choose to not gossip, discontinue watching that sinful program, not go to a movie because we know deep down it will not be a good one for us…
Every time we walk in the spirit and do what is pleasing to God and NOT our flesh we are blessed. We are storing up great treasure in heaven. We will be rewarded for our sacrifice.
When we make a decision to live for God and make right choices (walk in the spirit), we will not become popular. We may even lose friends that we were once close to. When you start to deny your flesh and have a friend that doesn’t agree, you may find the friendship drift apart. You may even encounter “persecution.” Persecution will not just come from the lost…it will come from your very own sisters and brothers in Christ…
When you are given a choice to do what is right or wrong, instead of thinking that you are “missing out” on something or losing something or someone…consider it a sacrifice unto the Lord. And He WILL bless you for it! He loves you and wants ONLY good things for you.
Unfortunately, we sabotage what He has planned for us a lot of times, because we choose to please our flesh instead of our Merciful and Loving Daddy.
Let’s Pray,
Daddy God, thank You for loving me. You are a Mighty and Awesome God. You are King of Kings and Lord of Lords. You are Faithful and Just. You are Worthy of ALL my praise. You are Holy and Pure. Your are Merciful and Kind. You are Truth. You are Jehovah-Jireh, my Provider. You are Jehovah-Nissi, my Banner. Jehovah-Shalom, my Peace. You are the Creator of all things. You are my God and I will serve You with my whole heart. I love You, Daddy. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
In His Love and Service,
Lara ;)
