Woe Is Me… and Let’s Be Grateful

Well, let’s face it. We all have those “woe is me” days, don’t we? And we are all entitled to them while traveling through the various stages of our journey of “this life.”

I was having one of those days just last week…as I was thinking, “All I do is work!” Ha!! Yes, was feeling a bit sorry for myself, as we all tend to do at times. And wow, what a day. I was having a bad one, I tell ya! It was a glorious day outside, and I was inside working. :o

I guess all the “woe is me” days makes us who we are, this is true. But knowing this doesn’t make the “woe is me present day” any easier! We realize this after the fact and we learn from them. =)

Later on during my off day last week, I found myself thinking out loud, and I actually mouthed the words, “Tammy, get a grip, you have far too much to be grateful for, snap out of it!” And indeed I do!

It was then that I started thinking about and naming off each thing that I was grateful for. ;)

#1 on my list is Family

#2 My Husband

#3 Grateful that I have a “stay at home” job

#4 Grateful I have food on my table

#5 Grateful I have a warm bed to sleep in

#6 Grateful for the Grandson that will be here soon (before we know it for sure)!

#7 Grateful for the clothes I have to wear and “double grateful” they are getting looser on me. ;)

#8 Grateful for the sunshine, even though I was again, inside working

# 9 Grateful for the friends that I have both (offline and online)

#10 And finally and certainly not least, I’m grateful for my God!

Are you having a “woe is me” crappy day? What all do you have that you are grateful for?

I love the fact that this is a place you can go to for encouragement. I would love to see scripture added to go along with the topic. It would add so much for me as a woman, wife and mother to be able to see God’s word included with these issues we all go through! Thanks,

    Jessica

    Hi Jessica,

Thanks for your comments, and I’m sorry I have not responded earlier. Adding some relevant scriptures to go along with the topic here…

    :)

    Be Ye Thankful…

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him” (Colossians 3:15-17).

    Bless His Name…

“Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.

“Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

“Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

“For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations” (Psalms 100:1-5).

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. (Colossians 2:6-7)

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

    Have a great day! :D
