Polly Pocket Playtime Pet Shop Review
Polly Pocket has become one of my little one’s favorite toys, and now that she has the Polly Pocket Playtime Pet Shop, I think it is her absolute favorite! Sure, she was happy when she received the “Hangout House and Patio“ sets last month. However, when she recently got the pet shop, she was beyond thrilled! It was adorable to hear her squeal with delight over each little part of the set. It really is a cool toy! Kids these days do not know how great they have it! I do not remember toys this fabulous when I was a kid! LOL!
Anyway, her favorite part of the Pet Shop is.. well … everything! However, when I pressed for an answer, she finally told me she really likes the grooming area (bath) and the way the treats fall out. She LOVES this toy! Since we received it, she has played with it multiple times each day! I love this–more imaginative play time and less desire for electronic fulfillment! YAY!
Another thing to note is that she prefers this set over the Hangout sets from last month. After playing with them and the “stick ‘n play” feature for a few weeks, she discovered that the suctions were harder to use over time. So, she prefers this set since it does not have the “stick ‘n play” feature.
As a Mom, I think Polly Pocket toys are affordable, cute, fun and small enough to make organizing easy! I love that they do not take up tons of space! I also love that they grab the attention of my child–in a good way! I am always looking for toys and activities that get my little one off electronic activities and using her imagination. So, it is a win for me!
TV and electronics are not all bad, though, and the Polly Pocket DVD we received with this review is a testament to that. It is called, “Friends Finish First.” After we watched this adventurous video, I asked my little one what she thought…
Me: Did you like Friends Finish First?
My Sweet Girl: Yes! I REALLY liked it!
Me: What was your favorite part?
My Sweet Girl: My favorite part was when Cassandra Alexandra (the villain in the movie) finally got “adventure.”
Note: you will need to watch the movie to know what this means! It is FREE on the website. Just click here and when you get there click on videos and on the right look for “Friends Finish First.” :)
Me: Do you think there was a lesson in the movie?
My Sweet Girl: Yes. I think it was about how it is not good to be greedy and that winning is not more important than friends.
I am thrilled that there are toys like Polly Pocket out there for my little girl, and that they have great characters in their videos to help facilitate good quality play time. I am a fan of Polly Pocket and I am certain once you see your little one(s) play with them, they (and you) will be too!
Disclosure: “I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Mattel Polly Pocket. I received a product samples and a promotional item as a thank-you for participating. However, my opinions are my own!”
