Encouragement When You are Feeling Overwhelmed

Note: I am hoping to pick up The Daily again. It may not be every single day, however, I will definitely contribute more often!

I have been on an emotional roller coaster lately, and a couple weeks ago, God gave me this Scripture. I read it and thought, wow, and then forgot about it. Then, yesterday, I fell apart early on and by the end of the day had been overwhelmed with hurt and felt like throwing in the towel

But, then… God reminded me that He is HERE!

O God, listen to my cry! Hear my prayer! From the ends of the earth, I cry to You for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety, for You are my safe refuge, a fortress where my enemies cannot reach me. Let me live forever in Your sanctuary, safe beneath the shelter of Your wings! – Psalm 61:1-4

He IS our safe refuge. He DOES hear us. We ARE safe beneath the shelter of His wings.

Yes, I will face trials and troubles in this life, and yes, I may feel overwhelmed at times. However, I know that I know that I KNOW my God loves me and will NEVER leave me or forsake me–no matter how dark and dreary it gets!

Be strong, courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you. – Deuteronomy 31:6

I hope that this encourages you as much as it did me. Never forget that God loves you and cares for you right in the middle of the lowest of your muck and the high points as well!

The Daily - Devotional - Encouragement When You are Feeling Overwhelmed

Daddy God, forgive me for wallowing in a sea of self pity and forgetting that I am the daughter of the Most High. Forgive me for forgetting that You are with me and that WITH YOU, I CAN face any storm and that You, the Creator of the Universe will be with me every step of the way. I love You, Lord. Thank You for loving me! In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

I am so happy to know that you snapped back to your sences ;) I just began following your blogs for a few weeks. The last few have been worrisome. You talking about throwing in the towel and this nonsense the enemy loves for you to feel. From the little I know about you, you walk in the path of The Lord! He will never leave your side just like you have realized :) But just like he will never give up on us we shall never give up on praying and believing that his power is greater than any other and he will be here for us regardless. Remember that being a Christian is a constant battle we NEED to fight to obtain our maraculous victory :D and in regards to that horrible comment… forget about it you have followers because we admire your work and who YOU are, just the way you are! :))I will keep praying for you!

Thank you for this list. Feeling overwhelmed just doesn’t quite cover it for me this morning. Between pressure at work, feeling guilty about homemaking (or lack there of), slightly behind schedule on homeschooling, pre…you know…I have had a flood of tears all before 5am today. After in audible blubbering to my wonderful husband (who’s asking…where did this come from and what can I do to help?!), and prayer, my first google search for inspiration brought up your post. Just what I needed, at least a start to taking a deep breath. Thank you!
