God Longs to be Gracious to Us!
It is only day 3 of 2013, and it is already crystal clear to me that it is going to be a year that I will need to engage in spiritual warfare, and rely on my Lord and His Word more than ever!
And therefore the Lord earnestly waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him–for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship! – Isaiah 30:18
I used the Amplified Bible translation for this verse, because after I studied the verse, I found that it describes it perfectly based on original Hebrew text. However, I still want to look at the word gracious. It comes from the Hebrew word chanan and means: bend in kindness to an inferior; to favor, bestow, give, grant, be merciful.
I love this! Isn’t is amazing to think that GOD… the King of Kings and Lord of Lords earnestly WAITS and LONGS to be gracious to us??? He wants to bestow kindness and favor on us. No– He WAITS and LONGS to do it! It is His desire to bless us. He is not some angry god somewhere in the sky that does not care for us. He is the ONLY True God, and He loves each of us so profoundly that He actually deeply desires to love us, and show us kindness, mercy, and favor. He wants to help us through His Word, and the petitions of our prayers through faith and give us: peace, joy, and unbroken–matchless companionship!!!
This Word has set a fire under me to press on and fight the battle before me! I will not cower and miss the blessings and victory that my Daddy in Heaven has for me! Nope! This girl is getting armed and opening her arms to the mercy, grace, and love that my–OUR God so freely wants to give!
He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. 31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. – Isaiah 40:29-31
Daddy God, thank You for never leaving me! Thank You for putting people into my life that speak Your Word and Truth over me. Thank You that I can find help, encouragement, and weapons for warfare in Your Word. I love You, Lord, and I want to live victoriously. I am amazed that You, the Creator of all things longs to do anything for an unworthy peasant like me. I am in awe of Your great love for me! Here I am, Lord, opening my heart and arms to the grace, mercy and blessings that You have for me! I receive them, in Jesus Name! Thank You!! In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

I know 1st Peter 5:7 off by heart but I always only focus on my part of casting my cares on Him. The amazing truth of the second half of the verse just struck me – God cares about ME!!!
God bless
