What are You Confessing?

God has been dealing with me about what comes out of my mouth lately.

What am I confessing?

What I am declaring and accepting by allowing it to settle in my heart, and then ultimately come flying out of my mouth?

Unfortunately, many times, we do not actually apply the Word to our lives. We read it. We recite it. We may even know parts of it by heart. However, do we actually APPLY what we know? Do we realize that there are so many promises in God’s Word that are never even received?!

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it-for death or life. – Proverbs 18:21 (amp)

It is amazing to me, when I really pay attention, just how much DEATH I speak over my own life!

I find myself saying things like…

I’ll never…

That could never happen to me…

I can’t…

I’m not good enough, smart enough, talented enough…

I have (this sickness or that sickness)

And the list goes on and on.

What are You Confessing?

Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. – Ephesians 4:29 (nlt)

How are we speaking good and encouraging things to OURSELVES???

Are we??

The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you. – Matthew 12:37

Are we condemning ourselves? Are we receiving illness and poverty by the power of our OWN words??

But it goes even further than that!

Do we realize our position?

We are more than conquerors. (ref. Romans 8:37)

We are above, and not beneath. (ref. Deuteronomy 28:13)

We are protected. (ref. 2 Thessalonians 3:3)

We are loved. (ref. Ephesians 2:4-5)

We are chosen. (ref. 1 Peter 2:9)

We are sanctified. (ref. Galatians 2:20)

We are the apple of our Daddy God’s eye! (ref. Zechariah 2:8 & Psalm 17:8)

This should really open our eyes and help us to see just WHO we are!

Even more than that, we are healed, redeemed, and called to be light in this dark world! It’s time we stop feeling sorry for ourselves, and started confessing the Truth!

It comes down to our words, and how they build or destroy our faith! We must SPEAK the Truth in order to BUILD up our own faith, so we can receive the manifestation of what we ALREADY have available to us!

We ARE healed.

We ARE redeemed.

We ARE forgiven.

We ARE fearfully and wonderfully made.

We ARE beautiful, precious, and hand made by the Almighty God!

We HAVE prosperity.

We HAVE all that we need.

The price has ALREADY been paid with every stripe that our Savior received on His back, and with every drop of Blood that He shed for us!

Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything. –  Proverbs 13:3

OK, so, NOW…

What are you going to start confessing???

Father God, forgive me for every idle word that has proceeded out of my mouth. Forgive me for rejecting Your promises and gifts. Forgive me for feeling sorry for myself. Forgive me for giving into the lies of the devil. Thank You for loving me and forgiving me, Lord. Thank You for sending Your Son to die for me. Thank You, Jesus for every whip that You received, and every drop of Blood that You shed for me. Help me to realize the power and authority that Your sacrifice has made available to me! Teach me how to walk in victory, and to really KNOW who I am! Right now, by faith, Lord, I receive Your healing, mercy, prosperity, and forgiveness. I believe that You will teach me, guide me, and help me walk in the fullness of You! I love YOU! In Jesus’ Mighty Name, amen!

I am guilty of not being more positive in my thoughts and words. It is easy to beat oneself up over a small failure or to compare yourself to others. I am definitely needing to work on those areas, I confess.

This is such a good reminder. I really need to work on these things.
