Family Movie Night: Game of Your Life
One of the hardest things for me as a Mother is finding quality entertainment for my kids that is also SAFE for them to watch. That is why when I was given the opportunity to review a new family movie, I jumped at the chance!
After watching Game of Your Life, I am pleased to let you all know that it is a great family movie! More importantly, it is safe and offers a wonderful opportunity for character training and development for our kids.
The story is set around Zach Taylor, a young man who has been given a once in a lifetime chance to better his life via a scholarship into a great school that appeals to his career choice. He is soon put in a situation where he must make a choice. While he does give into temptation, in the end, he chooses the better path.
I am happy to say that this movie is filled with many great conversation starters, lessons, comradery, repentance, forgiveness and redemption. If you have a teenage boy, or a video game lover in your life, I am sure they will appreciate this movie as well. :)
While there are some sad moments where Zach recalls how his Mother died and the potential loss of his childhood home, there is nothing that I feel makes this film unsafe. There are no drugs, no sex and no bad language. It is just a decent, family friendly movie that even young children can watch. They may not understand the plot–but at least Mom and Dad do not have to worry about covering eyes and ears!
Game of Your Life premiers this Friday,
December 2 on NBC at 8pm ET/7pm CT.

Synopsis: When high school gamer Zach Taylor lands a scholarship to an exclusive video game design program led by billionaire gaming icon Marcus Bentton, his future takes a promising turn… as long as he can survive the intense freshmen project that eliminates half of the class in the first three months. Teamed up with determined group leader Sara and his brilliant yet socially awkward roommates, Donald and Phillip, the four set out to involve the entire campus in a quirky new social interactive game. As the project intensifies, Zach learns that his father is in financial trouble. Distracted and desperate to help, he accepts an opportunity to work with Bentton on a secretive and suspicious side project. Zach finds himself stretched to his limits and torn between his responsibility to the team and his desire to help his father. With nowhere else to turn, he confides in Professor Abbie Lambert and is forced to make a decision that will affect his future and the lives of everyone around him.

Thanks for the recommendation…I think I missed the original air-date, but perhaps it will be re-aired or available elsewhere! Always good to find a decent family movie…
