I have been banned from Target by my husband. What good wife hasn't? But really, he's asked me to pray before I go into the store. It's gotten that bad before. I try and convince him that I always spend less than the person in front of me, but he just doesn't respond well. Truly, Super Target was made for a mom. It was made for every mom. It has a Starbucks. It has the big carts with the two additional seats to trap strap in your kids. It has donuts for 69 cents, popcorn, and a bagel section where you can pacify your children while you browse every single aisle. Home Decorating: Out with the Old
I am not an expert in home decorating, but I know what I like when I see it. Over the past five years of marriage, my husband and I have established our own sort of style, and collected pieces that correlate. Much like in my clothes, I tend towards classic pieces; I love trends but I get overwhelmed by what I don't understand, so I stay in safe zones, wearing and buying mostly items that won't go out of style in the next five years. My furniture all have classic lines, and will hopefully weather the next twenty years without suffering too much fashion decline. Pillows, throws, pictures, and accents, however, are more on trend and current. 9 Tips to Organize on a Budget
When most people talk about getting organized, they dread the idea of doing it simply because they think it will break the bank. There are so many other things to spend our money on other than straightening the house, right? I could name a list of things I would rather spend money on than baskets and closet systems. What's important about your organizing systems is that you realize two things: 1.) If it's a permanent fixture that you can't change or move with you to a new house, rethink it. A lot of closet systems fall into this category. Make sure that if you splurge on a closet system, that it is still customizable in the event that you move into a new house. 2.) Realize that your needs and the ways you live are constantly changing. You will realize once you have completely organized a space that maintaining the organization begins with its functionality.
