Yesterday, we talked about praying, preferring, carrying and loving one another. There is so much more to it though. I am continuing the thought with gentleness, humbleness and patience. This is a topic we can assume we may think we are good at. However, are we really kind and gentle with one another? Really? Let's see what the Word says and then decide... Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. - Ephesians 4:2 (NLT) I would say that I fail miserably on a daily basis with this one. By all means, please stop reading if you have mastered Ephesians 4:2. :) For those of you who struggle with being humble, gentle and patient, let's dig deeper.. The Daily – Wait on the Lord
I am not a fan of waiting. I will do everything in my power to avoid waiting. I choose the shortest lines, avoid traffic at all costs, look for quickest ways to perform tasks, etc. If there is a way to shorten the wait, I will find it, do it, make it happen. I hate waiting. Unfortunately, waiting is part of life. We must wait 10 months to see our precious babies for the first time. We must wait for our pay checks. We must wait for things to cook. We must wait for our favorite show's new episodes. We must wait in lines. We must wait for take out. We must wait for many things. And, we must wait on the Lord. There is no avoiding waiting. But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. - Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV) Waiting is a part of our walk with the Lord. He is not a genie in a bottle that pops out when we rub on the side of it. He does not come … [Read more...]
The Daily – Have you not known? Have you not heard?
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. - Isaiah 40:28-31 (NKJV) Isn't this an awesomely encouraging thing to know?? Our God...Indeed...OUR God, the Creator of the Universe does not grow weary. He is always ready for battle and alert to all things. He also gives us power as we wait on Him in confident trust. AS we wait upon the Lord and trust Him THROUGH the trials and struggles, HE gives us His strength to endure and make it through. We will run...and NOT grow weary. We will walk...and NOT faint! YEAH God! But wait... As with … [Read more...]
