Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. - Psalm 51:10 We live in such a crazy, self-indulgent society. It is so easy to walk in the flesh and forgo our spirits. It is so easy to watch those bad shows, read those tantalizingly sinful books, and listen to some juicy gossip. Unfortunately, that is not good for our walk, testimony; or beneficial to our calling. We have been dealing with "self" since the beginning of time, and David understood this weakness. He was very familiar with ignoring what was right and giving into his flesh. His cry was one that we each face when we find ourselves in the muck of the sad results of our poor choices. Create in me a CLEAN heart, O, God... Yes, help us, Lord. Help us to walk in the spirit and not gratify the lusts of the flesh! Renew a loyal spirit within me. Yes, Lord. Help us to be loyal and steadfast in our walks. Help us to be a light in this dark and sinful world! I hope that you will read this passage in … [Read more...]

This may seem melodramatic... maybe it is. However, I really do not think so. I truly believe that the influence we hold over our children is far greater than we could ever imagine. We cannot bow to the ways of this world! We must stand up for truth and righteousness! We must not allow our hearts and minds to become polluted with this world and its sinful passions and wayward ideals. Let’s Pray: Father God, thank You for Your Word--even the meaty portions that I sometimes find harder to swallow. Thank You … [Read more...]
Changing the Way You Think
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. - Romans 12:2 There are many ways that we can dig into this Scripture. It really is a meaty bit of Word. However, we will stick to the "transformation" portion. You see, God has such a great plan for our lives. He wants to bring each of His children to their full capacities. However, He can only do that when we leave our worldly thinking behind, and allow Him to transform us by changing the way we think. The cool thing about our Daddy God though, is that He is the perfect gentleman. He will not force us, or drag us into His will kicking and screaming. We must come to Him, and let Him to work in us. We must submit to His will and read His Word, so that we can renew our minds. Sadly, this world goes against everything our King stands for, so the ONLY way we can truly … [Read more...]
