For the Lord

Whatever may be your task, work it heartily, as something done for the Lord and not for men. – Colossians 3:23

If you ever struggle with housework, or any job you have as a wife and/or Mother inside or outside the home, this is for you.

If we put our tasks into the right perspective, we will find them easier to do.

There are many tasks that we have as Mothers: cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, nursing, loving, cleaning, child rearing, drill sergeant, chauffeur, oh… and did I mention cleaning?

For many of us, it is a constant struggle just to keep the house decent. Others may find their tasks meaningless, boring, too much, or unenjoyable.

We can change all of this if we do EVERYTHING for the Lord. If we make it an act of worship, we will find joy in seemingly meaningless duties. If we make the choice to allow God to SHINE in EVERY area of our lives, we WILL be MUCH happier.

Being a busy mom can be stressful at times. However, if we focus on the joy of the children God blessed us with, and all the other many blessings God has given us as mothers and women, there is less to complain about! Putting our perspective in the right direction will help us to do our “busy mom” duties with joy, and as unto the Lord, because let’s face it, it should be! Our kids belong to Him anyway! Let’s make the limited time journey with them enjoyable–by choice!

Dig Deeper:

Look up the following Scriptures and write them out in our own words.

  • Proverbs 16:3
  • 1 Corinthians 10:31
  • Psalm 90:17

Let’s Pray:

Father God, thank You for the gift of Motherhood. Thank You for ALL that comes with being a Mother… the good and not so good. Thank You for the opportunity to teach my children by example how to live a life dedicated to You. Thank You for loving me and helping me to… (whatever area you struggle in). You know I struggle in this area. You also know that I want my life to reflect You. Help me to find joy in the journey! I love You. In Jesus’ MIGHTY Name, amen!
