The Sermon on the Mount – Blessed are those who Hunger and Thirst for Righteousness

<–back to The Sermon on the Mount

Matthew 5:6 (NIV)

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled

In the dark and sinful world that we live in, it is very easy to get caught up in the ideas and temptations swirling all around us. There is so much junk surrounding us that many people in the Church have compromised in one way or another in order to “fit in.” We want to be called Christian’s, yet we don’t want to be completely consecrated. We allow just enough of the world in to become desensitized and ineffective to the Body.

But wait! if we would just humble our flesh under the authority of Christ and not allow the world to change us, we will be supremely blessed! And we will be filled and satisfied. We must not let this world and the ruler of it sway us from the Truth. We must not allow those little foxes (compromises) to sneak in and destroy our crops.

When we are tempted to watch something that we know is wrong…When we are tempted to gossip…When we are tempted to lie…When we are tempted to compromise in any way, we must learn to turn from it and strive for righteousness. We must get God’s Word so embedded into us that we crave His Will and righteousness on a daily basis.

The bottom line is…

LIVE FOR HIM!

Let’s Pray,

Daddy God, I find it hard sometimes to submit to what I know is right. Please help me to become a warrior for righteousness. Help me to show my children how to live a consecrated life by living it out before them. Help me to set a better example for righteousness. I long to live a life that is pleasing to You. I long to hear You say, “Well done…” Thank You for Your Strength and Love. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

In His Love and Service,

Lara ;)
