The Daily – Won’t you Join me on Daddy’s Lap for a Bit?
As I was about to sit and wallow in my failures and pain, I decided to take refuge in the Word instead. You see, it is so much easier to give into the lie that I will always be a failure, and I will never live up to what God has in store for me. I am not sure why it is easier–it just is. However, I am determined to go AGAINST the current and find my refuge in the Truth of God’s Word.
In there I see just how deep and wide is Daddy’s great love for me — all of us. I need to just crawl up in His lap and take my refuge. He is all I need. If we can just hold onto His great love and remember all that He is and all that we are to Him, we would find the peace we all crave. We would be able to block out the distractions and pains of this life and focus on the Almighty God.
Ladies, He is our DADDY. He is not just some super natural being who sits on a throne and passes judgement upon the earth. He is a Father. We are His baby girls and He loves each of us intimately and profoundly. His love NEVER leaves. It NEVER fails. It is steadfast, constant and always.
Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, extend to the skies, and Your faithfulness to the clouds. Your righteousness is like the mountains, Your judgments are like the great deep. O Lord, You preserve man and beast. How precious is Your steadfast love, O God! The children of men take refuge and put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They relish and feast on the abundance of Your house; and You cause them to drink of the stream of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see light. O continue Your loving-kindness to those who know You, Your righteousness (salvation) to the upright in heart. Let not the foot of pride overtake me, and let not the hand of the wicked drive me away. – Psalm 36:5-11
I will feast and relish in His love and grace. There is no other way for me to live. I cannot take a breath without His help. He is all that I we need.
Won’t you join me on Daddy’s lap for a bit?
My prayer;
Daddy God, as always, I am amazed by your great love and compassion towards me–towards ALL of Your beloved children. Thank You so very much for loving me and choosing me to be Your very own. I love You and need You. Please gather me in Your arms and never let me go. All I need in this life is You and Your love. It is all any of us need. Help us to all see that and find the peace we need in the strength and safety of Your loving arms. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
