Time Saving House Cleaning Tips
Oh, the housework is never ending! It’s doesn’t matter whether you’re a stay-at-home-mom, work-at-home-mom or work-out-of-the-home-mom if you live in a house and I know you do, and then there’s always house work. House work can be time consuming, but not if you maintain it often by using these classic time saving cleaning tips shared by various moms.
The rule is don’t put off cleaning. The longer you leave it, the dirtier it’ll get and the more work you have to put towards it. There’s a difference between a messy house and a dirty house. The latter is nasty and you’ll want to avoid a dirty, grimy, gross house.
Get on a weekly schedule to clean the house especially the bathroom. Because the bathroom is used the most, a time saving tip would be to clean the bathroom sink or clean the mirror when you see it’s dirty. A quick rinse of the sink is all that’s really needed. You can even do a quick toilet brush bowl scrub.
Use three hampers or baskets to sort the laundry by colors. When it’s time to do laundry, your clothes are ready to wash without the needed step of sorting.
If you see something in the wrong place, pick it up and put it back in the right place. This saves time if you’re looking for a particular item and you can’t find it in its proper place. Don’t leave it and forget it. Move it and remember it.
Put all junk mail in the recycling; don’t leave them on the table or on the floor. After you read the newspaper or magazine, put it in the recycling area.
Instead of tossing things in the drawer with the thought of out of sight, out of mind only creates more mess later on, use a basket for items you’re not sure if you’ll keep. Make sure you sort through the basket daily or weekly to eliminate hoarding.
When you vacuum, use the vacuum attachments to clean other solid surfaces like lampshades, window sills, or window coverings. You can vacuum tabletops and mantel.
If you’re not going to do your dishes right away, soak them in the sink, but don’t leave dishes to pile up each day. Save time by cleaning in the kitchen while dinner is on the stove or in the oven. Kids are great helpers in the kitchen such as loading or unloading the dishwasher, helping you dry dishes, sweeping the floor etc.
If you have a big cleaning job to do, break it down into rooms. You don’t have to wipe down all the walls in one day, but do get help from your family with bigger cleaning projects.
Keeping a clean house doesn’t mean you have to spend hours on end cleaning it. If you maintain your home a bit each day or every other day, you’ll find you can clean your house in 30 minutes or less.
Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily, as something done for the Lord and not for men. – Colossians 3:23

100% agree, this post is spot on! All it takes is 30 minutes per day to keep a house maintained, that said for deep cleans it takes a lot more than a half hour. It’s important for busy parents to keep the time in perspective over a 24 hour period. If all else fails, luckily we live in a day and age where we can outsource the chores.
