Foods that Help Reduce Risk of Breast Cancer

There are a wide variety of foods to eat to help reduce the risk of getting breast cancer. Equally important is engaging in a regular exercise regimen, maintaining a healthy body weight, and building a stronger immune system.

It is important for our bodies to be in a balanced alkaline-acidic environment. Natural food health experts recommend 80% alkaline and only 20% acidic. When your body is more alkaline, it’s in a healthier state. Why? Because, breast cancer or any form of cancer… and other diseases can thrive in an acidic body.

It gets a bit complicated when you talk about foods that are alkaline or acidic, because there are foods that are alkaline, but when consumed they become acidic. Good foods that turn into “bad” foods when eaten should be included in your 20%  acidic portion of your diet.

Foods to help maintain an alkaline body:

Almonds
It’s high in fiber, protein, calcium, potassium, zinc, magnesium, vitamin E and antioxidants. It helps prevent osteoporosis and lowers cholesterol.

Avocados
They are fantastic for your skin and hair. They are full of antioxidants and contain almost 20 vitamins and minerals. Avocados contain high levels of oleic acid that studies have shown to help prevent breast cancer.

The following vegetables are categorized as cruciferous and they reduce the risks of breast and other cancers:

Note: All cruciferous vegetables are high in vitamins, minerals, sulforaphane, antioxidants, fiber, and phytochemcials that break down carcinogens.

Arugula
Arugula is high in vitamins A, C, and K and it’s an excellent immune system booster.

Broccoli
Eat it at least three times per week for the benefits.

Brussels Sprouts
Not many kids and adults like these, but it is one of the cancer fighting powerhouse vegetables.

Bok Choy
This leafy vegetable is low in calories, but has many cancer fighting properties; it has a rich source of vitamins, minerals, and calcium to keep your bones strong and healthy.

Other cruciferous vegetables you can choose from are:

Cabbage and Chinese Cabbage
Cauliflower
Collard Greens
Chard
Daikon
Kale
Kohlrabi
Mustard Greens
Radish
Rutabaga
Turnip
Watercress

Other cancer fighting foods include:

Pomegranate Juice
Hot Peppers
Blueberries
Tomatoes
Green and Black Tea
Garlic
Flax
Spinach
Dark Seeded Grapes
Brown Seaweed
Carrots
Raspberries
Sweet Potatoes
Figs
Oranges
Lemons
Papaya
Rosemary
Turmeric

It defeats the purpose of eating so-called healthy foods that are genetically modified, pumped with hormones, steroids, harmful chemicals and what-nots. Organically grown foods cost a bit more, but they are worth the extra bucks for a healthier food choice and could be the difference between no breast cancer or fighting breast cancer and other life threatening illnesses.

Getting as much good stuff in our bodies could mean a healthier and longer life. Think about it this way: God made everything we need on this planet to live strong and healthy lives. He gave us His Word to feed and keep our spirits healthy and He created good foods that are meant to keep our bodies healthy. He never wanted us to eat harmful chemicals, hormones and other toxic substances to help man produce more, so they can make more money–while the rest of us get more and more sicknesses… Think about it…

Hmmm… It’s pretty evil to cut corners and make poor decisions so that profits outweigh the health of human beings… consumers… us… and our children!
