You can actually use social media even more if you're willing to pay for it. You can purchase ads to promote your fan page through Facebook for a fairly reasonable price, and many PR friendly bloggers offer sponsor posts or sidebar ads for not too much as well. There are also many specific PR companies who offer advertising packages for small business owners. For your money they will continuously promote you and your business. Faith and Business 101: Finding Affordable Advertising (pt. 2)
In my last Faith and Business 101 article, I touched on the importance of affordable advertising and how social media is the best free advertising you can get! Last week we talked about Facebook, this week we're going to focus on a very popular social media craze--Twitter. Even if you don't have a Twitter account I'm sure you've heard of it. Even mega businesses, and of course celebrities, are realizing the high value of Twitter and jumping on the bandwagon. I found it interesting to find that even things like the Coast Guard have official twitter pages. Any savvy small business owner will realize the enormous potential of twitter and start tweeting! What is Your Status Update?
In today's social media age we have the unique ability to offer countless others wide open windows into our lives. In my mind social media is a wonderful, awesome, lovely thing when used correctly. Being able to stay in touch with friends, allow grandparents to easily access pictures and videos of grandchildren, and building close friendships with people you might never meet "face to face" are all things that easily come to mind as pros to social media sites. They can be very useful for you in ways you might not readily think of as well. So today my question is-what is your status update? It might be surprising just how much you can tell about a persons life by what they fit into that little space. What is it that you talk about the most?
